We are FUNDECYT-PCTEx, a non-profit foundation within the Public Sector of Extremadura, promoted by the Regional Government of Extremadura and the University of Extremadura.
We were established with the goal of enhancing the competitiveness of the region’s socio-economic fabric through science, technology, and innovation.
Following the quadruple helix model, we facilitate connections between the public sector, academia, private industry, and society

- FUNDECYT’s expertise in R&D&I policy design and implementation and innovation projects.
- PCTEx’s deep understanding of the business reality of the Science, Technology, and Innovation System (SECTI).
- On 1st January 2013, the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (FUNDECYT) and the Extremadura Science and Technology Park Foundation (PCTEx) merged, creating FUNDECYT-PCTEx.
- This union consolidated the objectives, expertise, and human capital of both organisations, establishing FUNDECYT-PCTEx as a key institution in structuring the science, technology, research, and innovation system in Extremadura.

La Fundación para el Desarrollo de la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FUNDECYT) y la Fundación Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Extremadura (PCTEx) se fusionaron el 1 de enero de 2013, dando lugar a una nueva entidad: FUNDECYT-PCTEx. Esta fusión reúne los objetivos y fines de ambas organizaciones, así como su capital humano, actividades y conocimientos, consolidándose como un organismo clave para la articulación del sistema de ciencia, tecnología, investigación e innovación de Extremadura.
Nace de la combinación de la experiencia europea e internacional que FUNDECYT ha acumulado desde 1995, y del profundo conocimiento del PCTEx sobre la realidad empresarial del sistema extremeño de ciencia, tecnología e innovación, desde su creación en 2009.
